Outpatient COVID treatment study:

Dr. Sri Edupuganti is conducting a COVID-19 treatment study (sponsored by Pfizer) at the Emory Hope Clinic. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of an antiviral medication called Ibuzatrelvir for the treatment of non-hospitalized, symptomatic adult participants with COVID-19 who are at high risk of progressing to severe illness (age >18yrs).

Risk factors include HIV, obesity, cigarette smoking, diabetes, moderate immunosuppression, chronic lung disease, or cardiovascular disease. Participants will also need to be unable to receive nirmatrelvir/ritonavir (Paxlovid) as standard of care for reasons such as intolerance, drug interactions, unavailability or refusal based on concerns around its safety and tolerability profile.

Participants must be enrolled within 5 days of symptom onset.

If you have patients who have COVID, and they might be interested in a study, please call Sarah Bonds, sebonds@emory.edu or (404)712-9031
